Paper and Pulp Brighteners: Start with the Addition Point
A paper brightener inquiry should identify whether it concerns pulp, surface sizing or coating. Match the commercial grade and current documents to that system rather than transferring a textile recommendation into paper production.
Name the application stage precisely
“For paper” leaves important information unstated. Identify where the product is intended to enter the process and describe the relevant furnish or coating system. Explain whether you are evaluating a new material or replacing an existing grade. The addition point gives the supplier a clearer starting point for document review; it does not by itself determine the product, quantity or operating conditions.
Use the catalogue as a shortlist, not a recipe
The SUNWAY catalogue contains several paper-related entries, including BBU, 4BK, VBL and MST. They have different identities and descriptions, so their presence in the same application category does not establish interchangeability. Review the actual offered grade and supplied form. Do not import a dosage from another trade name or assume that a liquid and a powder can be compared without a clear specification basis.
Bring the paper reference into the discussion
Describe the intended paper appearance and provide a suitable reference under the evaluation conditions used by your technical team. Record material and process changes that might influence the comparison. Where coating ingredients or other additives matter, discuss them through an appropriate technical channel. The objective is to relate the sample result to the intended paper system, not merely to choose the brightest-looking isolated sample.
Confirm supply after the technical review
Ask for the exact grade name, packaging, document revision and sample quantity when requesting an offer. Keep the paper trial record attached to the specification used in purchasing. If the product form or the application point changes, review whether the earlier sample result remains relevant. This guide intentionally gives no universal addition rate or assurance of performance across pulp, sizing and coating systems.
Catalogue identity cross-check
This table uses the current site catalogue to identify grades and supplied forms. It is not an equivalence statement, performance ranking or production recommendation.
Bring these points to the discussion
- Pulp, surface sizing or coating.
- Material system and appearance reference.
- Exact grade, supplied form and document revision.
Catalogue information supports initial selection. Request the current TDS/SDS and evaluate a representative sample before production.
