ER-I vs ER-II: Identity, Form and Sample Review

ER-I and ER-II are separate polyester-focused evaluation candidates. Their labels and catalogue specifications must be checked independently; do not assume that ER-II is simply a higher-concentration version of ER-I.

Use the catalogue identity consistently

The comparison table lists the current website catalogue identity for each model. Carry that identity through the sample label, technical sheet, quotation and purchase order. If a supplier uses an alternative name such as R-I, request a written cross-reference rather than interpreting the abbreviation yourself. Similar names can hide differences in chemistry, formulation or supply form, and a mistaken match can undermine the entire trial.

Separate powder from suspension

Both product pages separate powder and suspension information. A percentage in a catalogue specification describes that listing; it is not a universal use rate for your material. Before comparing samples, ask which exact form is offered and how its specification is expressed. Do not exchange equal masses of two forms or assume that a catalogue percentage can be converted into a production instruction without the relevant grade-specific technical review.

Describe the polyester route without assuming a match

Polyester fiber treatment and polymer processing are different evaluation contexts. State the material composition, stage of addition and heat history, as well as the current product and target reference. ER-I and ER-II remain evaluation candidates until the selected commercial grade is reviewed for that context. This guide does not allocate one model automatically to dyeing and the other automatically to spinning.

Keep the comparison traceable

Use a trial record that connects the sample identifier to its form, documents and test conditions. Record the reference and the basis for accepting or rejecting a sample. When purchasing later, reference the evaluated grade and agreed specification rather than only the family name. If the supplier changes the form or specification, treat that as a reason to review the match again, not as an automatic continuation of an earlier result.

Catalogue identity cross-check

This table uses the current site catalogue to identify grades and supplied forms. It is not an equivalence statement, performance ranking or production recommendation.

Bring these points to the discussion

  • Match each sample to its own TDS/SDS.
  • Record powder or suspension explicitly.
  • Do not infer concentration or interchangeability from the model suffix.

Catalogue information supports initial selection. Request the current TDS/SDS and evaluate a representative sample before production.
